Alyssa Boer

Dr. Alyssa Boer is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who provides individual therapy to teenagers and adults. Her primary area of clinical interest and expertise is recovery from trauma, specifically experiences of power-based interpersonal and sexual violence and childhood trauma. Additional areas of interest include interpersonal relationship dynamics, family of origin concerns, gender and sexual diversity, identity development, and self-esteem.

 

Dr. Boer uses an integrated and relational treatment approach in therapy, tailoring interventions to help those she works with navigate their life experiences and act in a values-driven way. She primarily uses interventions based in interpersonal, cognitive-behavioral, and mindfulness theories framed within a collaborative, compassionate, and empowering therapeutic relationship. In therapy, Dr. Boer works with clients to explore how their experiences and intersecting identities have shaped their views of themselves, others, and the world. She is passionate about assisting individuals in reaching their goals so that they may life in a way that feels most meaningful and fulfilling to them.

In her free time, Dr. Boer enjoys being in the company of her family and friends, going on adventures, eating phenomenal food, gardening, and getting lost in a good book.

Alyssa is in-network with Anthem/BCBS and Purdue UHCSR.
